Ep 4. The National Mall

After gaining some knowledge about the bigger problems of the country through her school's field trip to the National Mall, Elena starts to feel the responsibility of making a difference. As she stays a bit hung up on the topic, she feels that she needs to fix all the things in one go before realizing that it's not practical.

Meanwhile, Bobby continues to work on his new hobby, photography, and asks Sam if he can be the photographer for the yearbook instead. However, when he couldn't get Sam to agree on anything, he starts to feel a bit left out of the whole thing.

Elena, who wants to do something about the country's issues, decides to write a letter to the President himself, with her opinions and solutions. Her mother, Gabi, who happens to have contacts in the government, allows Elena to send the letter to the Secretary of Education so that her voice can be heard. However, when she couldn't wait for a reply, she decides to take things into her own hands and goes to the Secretary of Education herself to present her opinions.

As she tries to convince the Secretary of Education of her ideas, Gabi tries to locate Elena and finds her in the Secretary's office, talking about an issue that she might not completely understand. Gabi quickly takes Elena out and explains to her that there isn't a simple solution to the issue that she presented. She emphasizes the importance of learning about the issues first, before trying to create solutions.

Meanwhile, Bobby continues to feel left out of the yearbook committee and decides to start his own photography club with the help of Liam, the school's organizational enthusiast. When Elena finds out about this, she decides to join the club as well since she always loved photography and wants to capture the world through her lens.

The episode concludes with Elena realizing that even though change is needed, she can't do it all at once. She also understands that becoming informed and knowledgeable is the first step towards change, while Bobby continues on his journey to becoming a photographer.
