Ep 1. Deep Breath

The Doctor is back in action with the beginning of season eight of Doctor Who. As they investigate, they discover that these combustions are actually being caused by a group of robots known as the Clockwork Droids. These droids are harvesting human organs, and using them to repair their own damaged bodies. The Doctor and company set out to stop them, but it won't be easy.

One of the most interesting things about this episode is the development of the relationship between the Doctor and Clara. As the Doctor struggles to come to grips with his new body and personality, Clara is forced to confront the fact that the man she's been traveling with for so long is not the same man she thought she knew. This leads to some tense moments between the two of them, as they try to figure out how to move forward.

Another standout element of this episode is the performance of Peter Capaldi as the Doctor. Capaldi brings a unique energy and intensity to the role- he's much more abrasive than previous Doctors, but still retains that sense of humor and playfulness that we've come to expect from the character. He's a refreshing change of pace, and adds a new dimension to the show.

The villains of the episode, the Clockwork Droids, are also a highlight. They're creepy and unnerving, and add a sense of danger to the proceedings. There's a haunting sequence towards the end of the episode involving one of the droids, which is sure to give viewers chills.
