Dr. K's Exotic Animal ER is a one-of-a-kind television series that follows Dr. Susan Kelleher and her team of veterinarians and technicians as they treat a variety of animals that most people have never seen before. From kangaroos and monkeys to chinchillas and alligators, the cast of creatures that make their way into Dr. K's clinic is unlike anything seen on any other veterinary show.

Season 9 of Dr. K's Exotic Animal ER kicks off with a heartwarming episode called "I Wallaby Your Baby!" that introduces viewers to a young wallaby named Starla. Starla finds herself in need of Dr. K's services after she was accidentally stepped on by one of the other animals in her enclosure. While wallabies are skilled at hiding their injuries, Dr. K knows a thing or two about these fascinating marsupials and is determined to get Starla back on her feet.

The episode begins as Dr. K receives a call from the staff at Safari Edventure, a zoo and conservation center in South Florida that specializes in exotic animals. Dr. K is told that they have a young wallaby that has been injured, and they need her help.

As Dr. K and her team arrive at the zoo, they are greeted by the staff and quickly get to work examining Starla. Dr. K explains that wallabies are masters of hiding their pain, making it challenging to diagnose their injuries. However, Starla's behavior reveals that something is amiss, and Dr. K takes her back to the clinic for further testing.

Once at the clinic, Dr. K and her team take X-rays of Starla's leg to determine the extent of her injury. They discover that her ankle is fractured and dislocated, and she will need surgery to correct the problem. Dr. K explains that the ankle is a crucial joint in a wallaby's leg, and if left untreated, it could lead to much more severe problems.

The surgery required to fix Starla's ankle is delicate and challenging, but Dr. K and her team are up to the task. They carefully anesthetize Starla and prepare her for surgery, which involves realigning her bone and stabilizing it with pins and screws.

As the surgery progresses, Dr. K explains the importance of working with exotic animals and how challenging it can be to diagnose and treat them. She credits her team for their expertise and experience in handling these types of cases, and notes the incredible relationships she has built with these unique creatures over the years.

Despite the difficulty of the surgery, Starla comes through with flying colors. Dr. K and her team watch as Starla slowly wakes up from the anesthesia and begins to show signs of a speedy recovery. She's walking on her previously injured leg within a few days, and Dr. K explains the after-care plan necessary to ensure that Starla fully recovers and isn't in danger of re-injuring herself.

The episode ends with Dr. K and her team bidding farewell to Starla and the staff at Safari Edventure, who are thrilled with the success of the surgery. Dr. K notes that every case they take on is unique and presents its challenges, but she loves the work she does and the animals she gets to work with.

Overall, "I Wallaby Your Baby!" is an inspiring start to Season 9 of Dr. K's Exotic Animal ER. The episode is full of heartwarming moments and is an excellent example of the type of incredible work Dr. K and her team do every day. Viewers won't want to miss a moment of the action, and they'll be eager to see what other incredible creatures make their way into Dr. K's clinic over the course of the season.
