The local blacksmith, Slink, arrives at the scene and informs them that it's not the first time that the bridge has broken. He also points out that the bridge was rebuilt a year ago with metal instead of wood and wonders how it could have broken so easily.
Dak and Leyla cannot help but think that something is fishy. They decide to investigate the bridge and identify the problem. The duo takes their respective dragons, Winger and Cutter, and flies across the damaged bridge. As they reach halfway across the bridge, they notice a metallic object that caused the bridge to break. They pick it up and bring it back to town, where they show it to the local blacksmith.
Slink confirms that the metallic piece is steel - something that he doesn't use for making bridges. The team concludes that the bridge was not damaged due to natural reasons, but someone could have sabotaged it. They decide to investigate further and seek help from Slink, who is known for his expertise in working with metal.
Slink identifies the steel as a unique type of metal that he had once been commissioned to work on. He had made a statue out of the metal, which was later stolen from his forge. Slink recalls the name of the thief - Magnus Finke - and tells the recruits that he's a notorious thief living in the vicinity of Huttsgalor. The Rescue Riders now know the thief and set out to find him.
They reach an abandoned quarry, which was rumored to be the hiding place of Magnus Finke. As they enter the abandoned quarry, they are attacked by traps set up by the thief to protect himself. The traps include flying blades, steel balls that cause landslides, and liquid steel that hardens into a cage when it comes into contact with air. But the Rescue Riders are experts and make their way through the traps.
They finally reach Finke's secret hideout, where they locate the stolen statue. They also find a map that indicates the locations of more stolen objects. The Rescue Riders decide to put an end to his thieving ways and capture him. But, as they try to apprehend him, they find themselves in trouble and require assistance from their dragons.
The episode concludes with the Rescue Riders capturing Finke and returning all the stolen objects to their rightful owners. They identify the stolen steel was used for repairing the bridge leading to Huttsgalor. The Rescue Riders repair the broken bridge themselves, and in the end, the town is safe and at peace again, thanks to the team's excellent work.
