In season 5, episode 2 of Drunk History, entitled "Dangerous Minds," viewers are treated to an entertaining and informative look at some of history's lesser-known figures and events. Featuring hilarious reenactments of various historical moments, the show combines irreverent humor with fascinating storytelling to create a truly unique viewing experience.

The episode begins with a brief introduction from series creator Derek Waters, who makes it clear that this is not your standard history lesson. "Drunk History is not responsible for the accuracy of any of the information contained within," he warns, before launching into the first segment.

This segment tells the story of Alice Roosevelt, the wild and rebellious daughter of President Theodore Roosevelt. Played by Aisha Tyler, Alice was known for her scandals, including smoking in public and carrying a snake with her at all times. Despite her unconventional behavior, she was beloved by the American public, and Waters uses her story to explore the ways in which female autonomy was (and was not) valued during this time in history.

Next up is a segment featuring actress and comedian Tiffany Haddish as the legendary French novelist Colette. Haddish, who is herself of French and Jewish descent, brings a unique perspective to the role of Colette, who was known for her groundbreaking writing on female sexuality and desire. As Haddish narrates Colette's story, viewers are treated to scenes of her seducing her much younger stepson, getting into a drunken brawl with her ex-husband, and eventually triumphing over the forces that tried to keep her from achieving literary greatness.

The episode's third segment tells the story of Samuel Mudd, the doctor who famously treated John Wilkes Booth after he assassinated President Abraham Lincoln. Though he was later imprisoned for his role in the conspiracy, Mudd maintained his innocence throughout his life, and his story has become something of a legend in American history. In this segment, comedian and actor Paget Brewster plays Mudd's wife, who narrates the tale of how her husband became wrapped up in the plot to kill Lincoln and what happened to him after the fact. As with the previous segments, there are plenty of humorous moments interspersed throughout the story, including a memorable scene in which Mudd tries to flee the country disguised as a woman.

The final segment of the episode is perhaps the most bizarre, and features actor and comedian Amber Ruffin as the 20th-century dancer and choreographer Martha Graham. Graham, who was known for her experimental and avant-garde approach to dance, is an unlikely subject for a show like Drunk History, but Ruffin makes the most of the opportunity, delivering a hilarious and over-the-top performance as the legendary artist. As Ruffin narrates Graham's life story, viewers are treated to scenes of her writhing on the floor in ecstasy, contorting her body into impossible shapes, and generally behaving like a madwoman. It's an absurd but entertaining end to a thoroughly enjoyable episode.

Overall, "Dangerous Minds" is a great example of what makes Drunk History such a beloved show. With its mix of irreverent humor, informative storytelling, and talented performers, it's a perfect way to learn something new and have a few laughs along the way. Whether you're a history buff or just looking for a good time, this episode (and the show as a whole) is definitely worth checking out.
