In season 6, episode 2 of Drunk History, entitled National Parks, viewers are taken on a wild ride through America's iconic conservation areas. The show opens with a hilarious reenactment of a drunken camper (played by Blake Anderson) stumbling through Yellowstone National Park, before passing out and dreaming about the history of the national parks system.

The first story of the night is about the founding of Yellowstone National Park, which was the first national park in the world. The tale is told through the eyes of celebrated painter and environmentalist John Muir (played by Jack McBrayer), who convinces President Theodore Roosevelt (played by Colin Hanks) to make the park a protected area. Of course, things get even funnier as the storyteller becomes more and more inebriated, and reenactors struggle to keep a straight face.

The second story centers around Yosemite National Park, and the role that a woman named Galen Clark (played by David Koechner) played in its preservation. Clark was a former gold miner who became a park ranger, and helped establish the concept of conservation ethics in the park. The segment is told through the perspective of Clark's estranged wife, who is seeking revenge against her philandering husband. Despite the absurdity of the plot, the story is well-researched and provides an interesting glimpse into the early days of the national parks system.

The final story of the episode focuses on the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), a government program established during the Great Depression to provide work for young men while also improving and preserving national parks. The storyteller, a woman who hails from a family of CCC workers, recounts the contributions made by the program to the Grand Canyon National Park in particular. The viewer is treated to hilarious reenactments of young, inexperienced men using dynamite to clear trails, and struggling with the harsh conditions of living and working in the park.

Overall, the National Parks episode of Drunk History is a hilarious and informative romp that sheds light on the important role that these conservation areas have played in American history. The reenactments are well-done and provide a great balance of humor and historical accuracy. Fans of the show, as well as history buffs, will be sure to enjoy this episode.
