Created by the legendary Jay Ward, this animated classic is a surreal spoof of silent film melodrama conventions. It follows the adventures of everybody's favorite Canadian Mountie, the eternally earnest Dudley Do-Right. Square jawed but cheerfully dim witted, Dudley fights heroically against the forces of wickedness in the form of the dastardly Snidley Whiplash. The mustachioed villain is constantly causing trouble for the peaceful citizens of Canada, and baiting Dudley in various ways. Although Dudley is quite incompetent, good luck and his trusty horse (named Horse) usually come together to allow him to win the day. When not chasing down his man, Dudley also attempts to woo the lovely Nell Fenwick, who is unaware of his affections. Silly situations and outrageous puns abound, and are facilitated by the witty narration.
