Ep 6. Chapter 6

In Eastbound and Down season 1 episode 6, titled "Chapter 6", the plot takes a different turn as Kenny Powers decides to hold a charity auction in honor of his deceased coach.

The episode starts with Kenny waking up in a hotel room beside an unknown woman, realizing that he has a charity auction to organize. He frantically calls up Stevie and tells him to gather all the baseball-related merchandise they can lay their hands on, as well as some omelets because he's "treating people right."

Once they've gathered all the merchandise, Kenny and Stevie head over to Ashley Schaeffer BMW where they plan to hold the auction. They see Ashley Schaeffer (played by Will Ferrell), who agrees to match whatever money they raise. At the auction, many people show up, but shockingly all the merchandise goes unsold. As a result, Kenny has to put away a lot of the items and heads over to visit his estranged father.

Kenny's father (played by Don Johnson) lives in a trailer park, far removed from Kenny's flashy celebrity lifestyle. The emotional reunion between Kenny and his father is heartfelt, and the audience gains some insight into Kenny's past and how it has shaped him as a person. We see that Kenny's father is the complete opposite of him in almost every respect, but they still have a special bond that has stood the test of time.

After returning to the auction, Kenny finds out that a high school baseball team is waiting to meet him. He agrees to sign autographs and stay for a while, but things take an unexpected turn when a classmate of Kenny's from high school shows up and starts making racist comments about Stevie. Kenny confronts the man and an altercation breaks out, ending the charity auction on a sour note.

As the episode ends, Kenny is seen returning to his motel room, reflecting on what he has accomplished. He is shown talking to himself in the mirror, questioning whether he is doing the right thing and if he is deserving of all the accolades he has received. The final scene shows a glimmer of hope as Kenny steps up to the plate, ready to take on whatever comes his way in the future.
