Ep 1. Seven-Spotted Ladybug

Shaun has traveled from Australia to live with his father and two half-sisters, Matilda and Genevieve, after their father passes away from cancer. Shaun's presumptions of becoming the guardian of his sisters are challenged when he learns his father's will states that his American ex-girlfriend, Tess, will raise the girls. As they adjust to their new reality, Shaun, Matilda, and Genevieve search for ticks after Matilda's new girlfriend, Drea, finds one on her body. Meanwhile, Shaun discovers a seven-spotted ladybug in his room and becomes fixated on keeping it alive. The episode deals with themes of death, grief, and the complexities of blended families.
