Ep 7. Blue Death-Feigning Beetles

In Everything's Gonna Be Okay season 1 episode 7, entitled "Blue Death-Feigning Beetles," we see Nicholas continuing to navigate his role as caretaker to his half-sisters, Matilda and Genevieve. In this episode, the trio take a trip to a small town outside of Los Angeles to attend the funeral of their estranged Aunt Margaux, who has left her house to them in her will.

He becomes intrigued by their ability to pretend to be dead when threatened, and decides to take one with him as a pet.

As they prepare for the funeral, tensions rise between the siblings as Genevieve becomes increasingly anxious and Matilda becomes reluctant to attend the service. Nicholas tries to keep the peace but finds himself overwhelmed by the emotional baggage that comes with family gatherings.

At the funeral, the siblings encounter Aunt Margaux's ex-girlfriend, who reveals that Margaux had been seeing someone else before her death. This news shakes up the family dynamic, and they are left wondering what other secrets their aunt had been keeping from them.

After the service, Nicholas takes the girls to a bug fair where they show off their new blue death-feigning beetle to a group of enthusiasts. He also meets a girl named Alex, who shares his interest in insects and asks him out on a date.

As the episode comes to a close, the siblings return home with a new appreciation for the complexities of family relationships and the uncharted territory of adulthood. They also begin to see the value in the strange and unusual, as represented by their newfound fascination with the blue death-feigning beetle.
