Face Off Season 2 Episode 7- Alien Interpreters

In this episode of Face Off, the remaining six artists are challenged to create out of this world alien creatures that can also communicate with humans. Known as the alien interpreters, these creatures must be able to communicate visually and audibly.

The challenge begins with the selection of a sound bite the artists choose from a list of six. The artists must utilize the given sound bite as a source of inspiration to create their own unique alien creature that can communicate in English.

As the artists start their work, they encounter various obstacles. One of them struggles with shaping her creature’s body to fit the limits of the required sound bite while another artist has difficulty creating his creature’s mouth. One artist feels that the brain structure of his creature is causing hindrances to create a sound accurately while the others are taking inspiration from different animals.

During the creation process, McKenzie Westmore and her father Michael Westmore pay the artists a visit. Michael Westmore is a famous Hollywood makeup artist who has worked on movies like The Rocky Horror Picture Show and The Mask. He shares his knowledge and experiences with the artists and gives valuable feedbacks on their art.

As the clock ticks down, the artists rush to finish their creations in time. The judges, Ve Neill, Glenn Hetrick, and Patrick Tatopoulos, arrive to inspect the final products. Each artist has created unique creatures that are truly out of this world. The most creative creatures are the ones that possess a mixture of unusual body parts, varied textures and vibrant colors, and good communication skills.

After the Judges evaluated the creations, they declared a winner. Meanwhile, one artist's creation was not up to par, therefore, the judges have to send the artist home.

Overall, Alien Interpreters was a challenging episode for the artists as the direction for the challenge was broad and they had to come up with unique ideas while being restricted to certain limits. The challenge brought out the true creativity and skills of each artist, as they demonstrated remarkable techniques and unique designs.
