Fonejacker Season 1 Episode 1 Season 1, Episode 1
- July 13, 2009
The show "Fonejacker" is a British comedy series featuring one of the funniest and most creative prank callers you'll ever see. Each episode, the Fonejacker, whose identity remains a mystery, uses his or her exceptional talent for mimicry and improvisation to make genuine-sounding but hilarious phone calls to unsuspecting victims. The show will keep you entertained and laughing until the end of each episode.
Season 1, Episode 1 opens with the Fonejacker calling various businesses and individuals, using various voices to trick and cajole his hapless victims into giving up sensitive information or just making them feel silly and uncomfortable. The first target is a computer store where the Fonejacker pretends to be a customer who has accidentally downloaded a virus on his computer. As the store clerk tries to help, the Fonejacker proceeds to navigate him into a completely different and confusing conversation.
Next, the Fonejacker decides to call a dog groomer and play on their assumption that he is from a dog rescue shelter. Using a vulnerable and sad voice, he asks for their help in finding a home for a fictitious dog he has saved from the pound. The dog, a West Highland Terrier with detached retinas and a collapsed lung, struggles for air as the Fonejacker tells of his last few days and hopes that the groomer can take him in. The groomer is clearly baffled, and the conversation takes some very unexpected and funny turns.
Another of Fonejacker's calls is to a woman who is looking for a job as a nanny. The Fonejacker pretends that he is from a movie studio, and that they're looking for kids to star in a $5 million dollar blockbuster. He asks her if he can audition her son, who happens to have a very distinctive "special talent." But the mother is put off when she realizes the talent in question is actually for catching meat pies with his mouth while blindfolded. Meanwhile, the Fonejacker tries to persuade her to pay for the privilege of having her son in the movie.
In another call, the Fonejacker phones a bank to inform them of a very valuable box full of diamonds that he has just found in his garden. The bank clerk takes him seriously and offers to have somebody collect it. But the Fonejacker isn't going to let it go that easily, and the conversation takes an unexpected turn. By the time it ends, the bank clerk is so confused and annoyed that she hangs up the phone.
Finally, the Fonejacker calls a pharmacy to talk about a strange new drug he's been prescribed, called "free money." The pharmacy is obsessed with its customers' well-being, confusing the Fonejacker as they ask him irrelevant and bizarre questions. The Fonejacker, not one to back down easily, keeps pushing to get his prescription across and asks some awkward questions in the process, giving the pharmacy staff quite the chuckle.
In conclusion, the Fonejacker never seems to run out of funny ideas. The first episode of Season 1 is just as amusing as the rest of the show's run, with the Fonejacker pulling pranks that will leave you in stitches. The show is perfect for anyone who loves a good, harmless prank.
