From The Earth To The Moon is an Emmy-winning television miniseries that explores the Apollo missions to the Moon. The series features dramatizations of historical events and interviews with the real people behind them.

Season 1 Episode 7, titled "That's All There Is," focuses on the last Apollo mission to the Moon, Apollo 17. The episode details the preparations for the mission, as well as the emotional impact of it being the final one.

The episode begins with the astronauts, Gene Cernan, Harrison Schmitt, and Ron Evans, training for the mission. Cernan and Schmitt, who are both geologists, are particularly excited about the scientific possibilities of the mission. They hope to gather more data about the Moon's geology and history than ever before.

As the launch approaches, the astronauts and their families face the reality that this will be the last time humans will return to the Moon for the foreseeable future. The wives of the astronauts express mixed emotions about their husbands being part of such a historic mission, but also worry about their safety.

The launch of Apollo 17 is a success, and the astronauts begin their journey to the Moon. During the journey, they conduct experiments and take part in media interviews, discussing the importance of the mission and their hopes for the data they will collect.

Once they arrive on the Moon, Cernan and Schmitt begin their scientific work, while Evans remains in orbit around the Moon. They traverse the lunar surface in the Lunar Roving Vehicle, collecting rock samples and conducting experiments. They also take time to appreciate the beauty and awe-inspiring nature of being on the Moon.

However, the mission is not without its challenges. The Lunar Roving Vehicle experiences mechanical issues, causing concern for the crew's safety. In addition, Cernan and Schmitt have difficulty managing their spacesuits, which are bulkier and more cumbersome than previous models.

As the time on the Moon comes to an end, the astronauts take a moment to reflect on their experiences. Cernan famously remarks, "as I take man's last step on the Moon, I do it with great respect and honor for the bravery and the courage of men like Yuri Gagarin, Adm. [Alan] Shepard, and Neil Armstrong, who are pioneers of space exploration, before me."

The episode ends with the return of the crew to Earth and their reunion with their families. Despite the success of the mission, there is a sense of sadness and finality, as everyone knows that this will be the last time humans venture to the Moon for a long time.

"That's All There Is" is a poignant, reflective episode that captures the emotional impact of the final Apollo mission. The episode highlights the dedication and bravery of the individuals involved, and their enthusiasm for science and exploration. It serves as a fitting conclusion to the epic story of the Apollo missions, reminding us of all that was accomplished and all that is still possible in the realm of space exploration.
