Ghost Hunters Classic Season 2 Episode 13 Crescent Hotel and Dr. Ellis
- October 15, 2021
In season 2, episode 13 of Ghost Hunters Classic, the team investigates the infamous Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Known as "America's most haunted hotel," the Crescent has a storied past, including being used as a hospital in the late 1930s and early 1940s by a man claiming to be a doctor named Norman G. Baker, but who was later found to have no medical qualifications. It is believed that many of the spirits that haunt the hotel are the result of the experiments done by Baker during his time there.
The team begins their investigation with a tour of the hotel and its grounds. They note that the hotel is very old and has a lot of creaky floorboards, so they'll have to be careful not to mistake natural sounds for paranormal ones. They also learn that the hotel has a reputation for being haunted by several different entities, including the ghost of a young girl named Michaela, a man who fell to his death in the hotel's lobby, and a woman who supposedly committed suicide after being jilted by her lover.
During their investigation, the team splits up and explores different areas of the hotel. One group focuses on the morgue and the area where Baker is believed to have performed his experiments. They try to communicate with any spirits that might be present by using a variety of tools, including an EVP recorder and an EMF meter. They also set up thermal cameras to try and capture any anomalous heat signatures.
Another group investigates the lobby and the area where the man fell to his death. They try to recreate the circumstances of his fall to see if they can capture any paranormal activity. They also try to communicate with the woman who supposedly committed suicide, hoping to find out more about her motivations for taking her own life.
Towards the end of the investigation, the team meets with Cindy Lee Burkham, a psychic medium who has experience with the Crescent Hotel. She tells them that she can sense several different spirits in the hotel, including the ghost of Dr. Ellis, a man who worked at the hotel in the early 1900s. According to Burkham, Dr. Ellis was a benevolent spirit who tries to protect the living from the other, more malevolent entities that haunt the hotel.
Overall, the investigation yields some interesting findings. The team captures several EVPs and EMF spikes that they can't explain, and witnesses some unexplained movement in the morgue. They don't capture any definitive evidence of paranormal activity, but they do leave with a haunting feeling that the spirits of the Crescent Hotel are alive and well.
