Ep 3. Drowned Lives

Melinda Gordon, a young woman with an unusual gift, can communicate with the dead. In season 2 episode 3 of the show Ghost Whisperer, titled "Drowned Lives," Melinda helps a ghost communicate with her living brother in order to solve the mystery of her untimely death.

The episode begins with Melinda helping a woman named Julia move on to the afterlife. After Julia's passing, Melinda is made aware of another ghost in need of her help. This spirit, named Sarah, appears to Melinda in a dream and begs for her assistance. Melinda sees that Sarah was drowned, but she is unsure of the circumstances surrounding her death.

Through Melinda's help, Sarah is able to discover that her death was not an accident, but rather a murder. She was killed by her boyfriend at the time, who was jealous and possessive.

Throughout the episode, Melinda struggles with her own personal issues. She is reeling from the revelation that her boyfriend Jim was previously married, and she is having trouble coming to terms with the fact that he kept this information from her. Melinda works through her own emotional turmoil while helping Sarah move on to the afterlife.

At the same time, Melinda must navigate her relationships with her husband's family. Jim's mother is overbearing and controlling, and Melinda is finding it difficult to assert her independence and individuality within their dynamic. She must balance her desire to maintain her autonomy with her love and respect for Jim's family.

As the episode progresses, Melinda continues to work with Sarah to uncover the truth behind her murder. Together, they are able to piece together the events leading up to her death and identify her killer. With this information, Sarah is able to find peace and move on to the afterlife.
