Blair is thrilled to be cast as the lead female role, but tensions rise when she discovers that her ex-boyfriend Nate's cousin, Tripp Vanderbilt, has been cast as her on-stage love interest. Meanwhile, Serena's father, Dr. William van der Woodsen, makes a surprise appearance in town, causing a rift between her and her newly rekindled relationship with Dan.
