Heidi Season 1 Episode 28 A New Goat in the Herd
- May 6, 2015
After Heidi's father died, she was sent to live with her grandfather on the Swiss Alps. She quickly made friends with Peter, a local goatherd, and his goats, and together they explore the beautiful countryside. In season 1 episode 28, titled "A New Goat in the Herd," Heidi and Peter are given a new goat to add to their herd. But this goat is unlike any other – it’s wild, uncooperative and always on the run.
Despite being warned by her grandfather that the new goat is trouble, Heidi is determined to make friends with it. She spends hours chasing it around the hills, trying to understand what it wants and how it feels. However, nothing she does seems to work, and the new goat continues to be a nuisance to everyone. It eats all the vegetables in the garden, scares the other goats and even causes trouble in the village.
Due to the new goat's behavior, the adults in the village want it gone. They threaten to sell it if it doesn't behave soon. Heidi, who has grown attached to the goat, begs her grandfather to let her take care of it. He agrees on the condition that Heidi is successful in making the goat behave.
Determined to keep her new friend, Heidi asks Peter for help. Together, they come up with a plan to train the goat. Using patience and kindness, they slowly gain the goat's trust and teach it to follow their instructions. They use treats to reward good behavior and show the goat that they mean it no harm. Over time, the goat starts to become more well-behaved and even bonds with the other goats.
However, their progress is soon interrupted when a storm hits the Alps. A rockslide blocks the path to the village, which means that the goats can’t reach the market to sell their milk. Knowing that their families depend on the money they earn from selling the milk, Heidi and Peter come up with a plan to clear the path. With the help of the goats, they move the boulder and clear the way. As a result, the villagers are grateful and kind, which helps Heidi and Peter realize that they have a special place in their hearts for the village.
In the end, despite the initial issues the new goat presented, the group succeeded in training it to be a well-behaved member of the herd. With teamwork and kindness, they were able to solve the problem and come out even stronger as a team. Heidi, Peter, and the goats continue to explore the Alps and make new friends while preserving their unique way of life.
