The Immortal Cimoli is the seventeenth episode of the fourth season of Highlander: The Series, a popular sci-fi/fantasy TV show that originally aired from 1992 to 1998.
The episode opens with Duncan MacLeod (played by Adrian Paul), a 400-year-old immortal warrior, attending the funeral of an old friend and fellow immortal, Cimoli. As he pays his respects, he is approached by another immortal, Garrick, who tells him that Cimoli was killed by a mysterious woman with a sword. Garrick suspects that the killer is a woman named Katya, a dangerous immortal with a personal vendetta against Duncan.
Duncan is skeptical of Garrick's theory, but his doubts are quickly dispelled when he encounters Katya himself. She is indeed the woman who killed Cimoli, and she is hell-bent on killing Duncan as well. Katya and Duncan have a complicated history: they were once lovers, but their relationship ended badly and Katya has been seeking revenge ever since.
As they face off against each other, both wielding their swords with deadly precision, Duncan and Katya exchange barbs and taunts. Katya accuses Duncan of betraying her, while Duncan insists that he did nothing wrong. The two warriors engage in a fierce battle, but Duncan manages to gain the upper hand and disarm Katya.
With Katya at his mercy, Duncan has a decision to make: spare her life, or end her immortality and kill her permanently. It is a tough choice, as Duncan still has feelings for Katya despite everything that has happened between them. But in the end, he chooses to spare her and let her live to fight another day.
As the episode comes to a close, Duncan reflects on the choices he has made and the lives he has taken as an immortal warrior. He wonders if he will ever find peace, or if he will always be caught in an endless cycle of violence and death. The Immortal Cimoli is a thought-provoking episode that explores the deeper themes of the series while still delivering plenty of sword fights and action sequences.
