The episode opens with Chris and Dick at a party, where Dick introduces Chris to a famous art collector named Sylvère. As Sylvère and Dick engage in conversation, Chris eavesdrops and overhears Sylvère expressing interest in Chris's artwork. Chris becomes excited at the prospect of a potentially lucrative barter deal with Sylvère.
Later, Chris meets with Sylvère at his art studio to discuss their potential barter agreement. Chris suggests that she will trade him her artwork for his support in getting her work exhibited at a prestigious art gallery. Sylvère expresses doubt about Chris's ability to successfully negotiate with the gallery's curator, but Chris remains optimistic.
Meanwhile, Toby and Devon continue to struggle in their relationship as Toby becomes increasingly frustrated with her husband's infidelity. In an attempt to mend their marriage, Devon invites Toby to participate in a couples' therapy session. However, their session quickly devolves into an argument, and Toby storms out.
Back at the barter agreement, Sylvère agrees to Chris's terms, but only if Chris agrees to perform a sexually explicit art piece for him in return. Chris is initially reluctant, but eventually agrees to the deal in order to secure a gallery exhibition for her work.
The episode ends with Chris putting on the sexually explicit performance for Sylvère, while Toby and Devon have sex in their car outside the art studio. As the two couples engage in their respective sexual activities, it becomes clear that each character is looking for a way to escape their current lives and problems.
