In the first episode of Kiznaiver, we meet seven high school students who are mysteriously selected to participate in a program called the Kizna System. The program's goal is to create bonds between people by sharing pain. Each participant is given a different emblem that corresponds to a different type of pain.
The protagonist, Katsuhira Agata, is a quiet and emotionless boy who is constantly bullied by his classmates. He has a strange ability to not feel pain, which makes him an ideal candidate for the program.
The other participants include Chidori Takashiro, Katsuhira's childhood best friend who has always had feelings for him; Hajime Tenga, a tough guy who always speaks his mind; Nico Niiyama, a strange girl who is obsessed with anime and cosplaying; Tsuguhito Yuta, a popular and handsome guy who is hiding a dark secret; Honoka Maki, a withdrawn and intelligent girl who doesn't want to be involved with the others; and Noriko Sonozaki, the mysterious and enigmatic girl who is in charge of the program.
The episode starts with the seven students being introduced to each other and the Kizna System. They are all skeptical at first, but when they feel the pain of the other participants, they start to form a bond. Katsuhira, in particular, starts to open up and become more emotional as he experiences the pain of the other participants.
As the episode progresses, the group is tasked with completing different missions that involve sharing pain. They come to realize that the system is not only about sharing physical pain, but also emotional pain. They start to open up about their own personal problems and realize that they are not alone.
The episode ends with a cliffhanger when Katsuhira experiences a flashback of a traumatic event from his childhood that he had repressed. He starts to cry, showing emotions for the first time, and Noriko Sonozaki appears, telling him that she knows about his past and that he was chosen for a reason.
Overall, the first episode of Kiznaiver is a great introduction to the show and sets up the premise for the rest of the season. The characters are all unique and interesting, and the concept of sharing pain to create bonds is intriguing. The episode leaves you wanting more and eager to see how the story unfolds.
