Ep 1. Conflict

In the beginning of the second season of Knights of Sidonia, flashbacks of Nagate's past are shown as he reflects on his life before joining the Sidonia and becoming a pilot. The episode quickly takes a darker turn as the Sidonia is attacked by a new type of Gauna, and the crew is forced to fight back.

As the battle rages on, the pilots must work together to keep the Gauna at bay. Meanwhile, tensions rise between the pilots as they debate the best course of action. Nagate is tasked with taking on the new Gauna alone, and the intensity of the battle pushes both him and his new Guardian to their limits.
