Ep 6. Who Framed Stella Abbott?

Stella Abbott thought she had her life figured out. She was the party girl that married her high school sweetheart, Wes, and they both lived happily ever after until her diagnosis of terminal cancer. She then decided to live life to the fullest, only to find out she was cured of cancer and her life was just beginning. In episode 6, entitled "Who Framed Stella Abbott?," Stella is thrown for a loop when she receives a subpoena from the Department of Justice claiming that she may have been involved in a possible fraudulent retreat center where her sister-in-law, Lizzie works.

Stella is devastated and confused as to why the DOJ thinks she's involved in anything illegal. She enlists the help of her family to figure out what is happening and to clear her name. All of them are supportive, but the stress of the situation is starting to take a toll on them.

Lizzie, who had previously been at odds with Stella, comes clean about the retreat center and its misleading claims. Lizzie, along with her best friend, was running the place in hopes of it being profitable. But what started as a little fib snowballed into something much larger, and soon they were claiming the retreat center could cure illnesses. When Stella finds out the truth, it all makes sense. Her sister-in-law was only trying to make ends meet during hard times.

Stella decides to take things into her own hands and goes to the DOJ hearing. What follows is a complicated web of lies and truths, but with the help of her family, they manage to prove her innocence.

"Who Framed Stella Abbott?" showcases the depth of the show's themes and how relationships between family members can be tested, but in the end, they come together to support each other.
