In "Love, Loss and Lohan," the ninth and penultimate episode of season one of Lindsay Lohan's Beach Club, the team confronts a series of challenges dealing with romantic relationships and professional struggles.
As the episode begins, Lindsay is reeling from the departure of some of her favorite ambassadors who left the Beach Club due to personal reasons. She is in no mood to entertain or put up with the usual drama. Meanwhile, Brent pushes himself hard to pursue his ultimate goal of becoming the Head VIP Host, confident that he can take the job if given the chance.
As they try to get the day started and handle their respective tasks, the stress of the job begins to take its toll on members of the team. Jonitta volunteers to take on a double shift, but ends up being overwhelmed after a chaotic day of work. During this time, she also starts to question her relationship with her boyfriend back home – especially after an uncomfortable confrontation with a VIP guest.
Similarly, Mike's blossoming romance with May has been on his mind, and when the two of them go out on a date, things start getting more serious. However, their conversation takes a dramatic turn when Mike confesses a secret that could potentially jeopardize their relationship.
Meanwhile, Sara is tasked with taking care of a demanding VIP who is known to be difficult. When she fails to meet his expectations, she begins to doubt her place in the Beach Club. Meanwhile, Jules and Alex battle against the waves as they set up a fancy beach party. However, things look bleak when they struggle to set up the beach layout according to Lindsay's plans.
In a surprise twist, Lindsay decides to shake things up and put all of the ambassadors to the test. She asks each of them to share three things that they love, and three things that they have lost. The exercise forces the team to open up, and for the first time since the season's inception, allows viewers to see another side of the ambassadors we have gotten to know over the course of the season.
As the episode comes to a close, Lindsay is forced to make some tough decisions. The episode ends with one ambassador being let go from the Beach Club, paving the way for the finale.
Ultimately, "Love, Loss and Lohan" is an emotional episode that manages to provide a heartfelt and human element to the normally chaotic seaside resort. Fans of the show will be left eager to see how this penultimate episode sets the stage for an exciting season finale.
