Little Witch Academia Season 1 Episode 5 Pact of the Dragon
- February 6, 2017
In Episode 5 of the first season of Little Witch Academia, titled "Pact of the Dragon," Akko and her friends go on a field trip to a castle where they're tasked with collecting rare mushrooms. Meanwhile, Amanda is approached by a group of shady characters who enlist her help in stealing a dragon's egg from the castle's vault.
As Akko and her friends explore the castle, they come across a room where a portrait of a young girl catches Akko's attention. The portrait is of the castle's previous ruler, a powerful witch who made a pact with a dragon to protect her kingdom. According to legend, the dragon laid an egg before disappearing, and the egg has been kept in the castle's vault ever since.
While searching for mushrooms in the castle's gardens, Akko and Lotte stumble upon Amanda and her accomplices as they try to steal the dragon's egg. Amanda, reluctant at first, agrees to help them after seeing the large sum of money they offer her.
As the group makes their way to the vault, they encounter several obstacles, including a security system designed to keep out intruders. Eventually, they make it to the vault and find the egg, but they're caught by the castle's headmistress, Ursula.
Ursula scolds the girls for their reckless behavior and explains the legend of the dragon's pact to protect the castle and its inhabitants. She also tells them that the egg belongs to the dragon and shouldn't be taken without its consent.
Feeling guilty, Amanda decides to return the egg to the vault, but the moment she places it back, the dragon appears before them, revealing herself to be the young girl in the portrait. The dragon, happy to see that the castle is in good hands, gives the girls her blessing and disappears, leaving behind a powerful magical artifact that they can use to defend the castle against any future threats.
At the end of the episode, Akko reflects on the lesson she learned about the importance of respecting other creatures and their habitats, and vows to use her magic to protect rather than harm.
