In the fourth episode of Lodge 49 season 1, titled "Sunday," viewers see a dramatic turn of events as the characters continue to navigate their complex lives.

The episode opens with the main character, Sean "Dud" Dudley, going on a morning surf with his newfound friend Ernie Fontaine. As they catch some waves, the two men have a conversation about Ernie's past and how he became a member of the fraternal order Lodge 49. Ernie reveals that he was brought into the lodge by his father and that they shared a passion for the order's traditions and rituals.

Meanwhile, Dud's sister Liz is dealing with her own problems. She is called into work on a Sunday, which sets off her anxiety as she thinks she may be getting fired. At the same time, Liz is still struggling with the loss of her father, who was a member of Lodge 49, and is trying to figure out how to move forward.

Back at the lodge, the drama unfolds as the members gather for Sunday "soup" - an important weekly gathering where they share a meal and discuss lodge matters. During the meeting, it is revealed that the lodge is facing financial difficulties due to a decrease in membership. This causes tension amongst the members, with some wanting to sell the lodge's prized asset - a valuable artifact - in order to raise funds.

As the arguments heat up, Dud steps up and delivers an impassioned speech about the importance of the lodge and its traditions. He argues against selling the artifact, instead suggesting that the members work together to find a solution to the financial problems. His speech surprises everyone in the room, including Dud himself, and earns him admiration from many of the members.

Outside of the lodge, Ernie is dealing with his own problems. His estranged daughter shows up and announces that she has quit her job and wants to move back in with him. Ernie is torn between wanting to reconnect with his daughter and his loyalty to the lodge.

Later in the episode, Liz goes to a bar to catch up with an old friend. They have a conversation about life and overcoming obstacles, and it becomes clear that Liz is struggling to process her emotions and move forward after her father's death.

In the final scene, the members of Lodge 49 come together for a traditional "closing" ceremony, where they recite a prayer and extinguish a candle. The scene shows the sense of community and belonging that the members share, as they come together to support each other and preserve the traditions of their order.

Overall, the fourth episode of Lodge 49 season 1 is a poignant exploration of family, community, and tradition. With a strong central performance from Wyatt Russell as Dud, the episode delivers emotional moments and engaging plotlines that keep viewers invested in the characters and their lives.
