Ep 4. Faetal Attraction

Bo's latest case takes her deep into the world of Fae politics in Lost Girl season 1 episode 4, "Faetal Attraction." Bo is able to use her powers to get Lachlan to reveal that Mayer is involved in a plot to kill the human girl because she has discovered a way to detect fae. However, before they can get any more information, Mayer shows up and tries to kill Bo. Bo is able to escape with Dyson's help but is left with a dangerous attraction to Mayer.

As Bo struggles with her attraction to Mayer, she and Dyson continue to investigate the case. They discover that Mayer is working with a fae scientist named Lauren who claims to have a cure for Bo's condition. Bo agrees to meet with Lauren, but when she gets there, she discovers that Lauren is actually a human who has been working with the fae to develop a drug that can control and manipulate them.

As Bo tries to escape, she is captured by Mayer and forced to use her powers to break into the Light Fae's headquarters and steal the information they have on the fae-detecting technology. Dyson and the Light Fae are able to track them down, and Bo is able to defeat Mayer with the help of Kenzi and a surprise ally. In the aftermath, Bo learns that Lauren is actually a doctor who can help her control her powers and starts to explore a more complex relationship with Dyson.

Overall, "Faetal Attraction" is a great episode that showcases the show's strong blend of mystery, supernatural elements, and strong female characters. Bo's struggle with her attraction to Mayer provides an interesting emotional throughline, while the investigation into the fae-detecting technology allows the show to explore its complex mythology.
