Ep 2. Getting Legs

In the second episode of Mako Mermaids: An H2O Adventure season 1, titled "Getting Legs," the storyline continues following the extraction of Zac's powers. The episode begins with a surreal moment of Zac laying in bed surrounded by mermaids. However, he soon realizes that his dream did not last for long because he still has legs and is no longer a merman. As they continue to play and teach Zac about being a mermaid, they realize that it's time to get back to their daily lives. Upon returning to town, they see odd posters with their photos on them. Anxious about it, they ask Zac to investigate the posters. Zac discovers that the posters are from a group of researchers who are investigating mysterious happenings in the ocean. Zac tries to explain to the mermaids that they should stay low-key, warn them of dangers, and hide their tails.

At a local shop, the mermaids come across a shopkeeper who has a lifelong fascination with mermaids and believes they exist in reality. The shopkeeper believes that the mermaids are searching for a way to become human and offers them a solution, which they politely decline. Despite the kind gesture being rejected, the shopkeeper agrees to keep her eye out for any helpful information on the mermaids.

As night falls, the mermaids are getting anxious and start feeling uneasy about the posters and the possibility of being captured. They are about to leave when Zac remembers something important. He tells the story of a merman who lost his power and his only hope of recovery was to take a dip in a secret, hidden moon pool. The mermaids are initially hesitant, but subsequently, they agree to go to the secret moon pool.

At the hidden moon pool, sirenas and merman dance under the moonlight and their tails glow. The mermaids explain that if Zac enters the moon pool, the magic will help him recover his merman form. Zac enters the pool and becomes a merman once again. Overjoyed that he regained his merman form, he thanks the mermaids for their help and tells them he will keep their secret safe.

Overall, episode two of Mako Mermaids: An H2O Adventure season 1 is a fun-filled adventure of Zac's attempts to learn how to use his powers, the mermaid's teachings of the magical mermaid world, and their journey to the hidden moon pool.
