Watch Navajo Cops

A National Geographic Channel production, Navajo Cops follows several Navajo Nation police on the job in the American Southwest. Filmed in the Navajo Nation, which is the largest reservation in North America, spanning three states; Arizona, Utah and New Mexico, the show focuses on a handful of the mere three hundred officers working in the almost 28,000 square miles of their jurisdiction. The size of the beat and the small force make for a dangerous job with back up often as much as forty five minutes away. Additionally the terrain is frequently harsh and difficult to navigate, creating challenges not faced by your average police department.

The men and women of the force, native and non-native alike, deal with all of the regular crime problems you would expect, ranging from thefts and drug dealing to violent crime, while also working within the unique cultural perspectives of the Navajo beliefs and customs.
