Nerds and Monsters Season 1 Episode 1 Dear Diary / Monster and Commander

However, when the nerds reveal their knowledge of space and the universe, the monsters become intrigued and decide to spare their lives--but only if they can use their skills to help them build a spaceship.

The nerds see this as their only chance of escape and agree to help, but soon find themselves at odds with Zarg's second-in-command, a brute of a monster named Gweelok, who doesn't believe the nerds can be trusted.

While the nerds set to work on building the spacecraft, they also plot their escape--most notably Irwin, who uses his diary to communicate with a passing ship via a bottle message. His actions almost result in their exposure, but their project soon takes a turn for the better when the nerds use their technical skills to thwart a monster sabotage attempt.

With Gweelok apprehended, the nerds make a break for it and manage to launch the spacecraft, but the episode ends with them realizing they have forgotten one crucial piece of equipment--the map.

All in all, "Dear Diary / Monster and Commander" serves as a great introduction to Nerds and Monsters, setting up the basic premise of the series and showcasing the contrasting personalities of the characters. The episode is both funny and action-packed, making it a great watch for viewers of all ages.
