Lee and Lucy have been living together for a while now, and the novelty of it is starting to wear off. While Lee is perfectly content with their platonic living arrangement, Lucy is trying to navigate the dating world as a single woman in her thirties. After a series of failed dates, Lucy turns to Lee for advice on how to find the perfect man.
Much to Lucy's dismay, Lee's idea of a perfect man is someone just like him. He convinces Lucy to let him set her up with one of his friends, a charming but somewhat clueless bloke named Toby. Lucy reluctantly agrees, and the two have a rather awkward first date.
Meanwhile, Lee's flatmate Kate is dealing with some romantic troubles of her own. She's been seeing a guy named Tim, but their relationship has hit a rough patch. When Tim shows up at the flat unannounced, Kate is forced to confront her feelings for him.
As Lucy and Toby continue to see each other, she realizes that maybe Lee was right all along - they do have a lot in common. But when Lee starts to feel jealous of their budding romance, he begins to sabotage their relationship.
In the end, Lucy and Toby decide to give things a go, much to Lee's disappointment. But just as things seem to be heating up between them, Toby reveals a shocking secret that threatens to derail everything.
Will Lucy be able to move on from this setback, or will she give up on love altogether? And will Lee ever find someone who is as perfect for him as he thinks he is? Find out in this hilarious episode of Not Going Out.
