Tim and Lee try to prove who is the better man. They both agree to take their respective families camping in the wild to settle the debate. As they set up for the trip, Lucy warns Lee that Rachel, Tim's wife, is an outdoors expert who is likely to be more prepared for the camping experience. She tells him not to worry about it, only for Lee to realize that he brought a broken tent and no spare. They try to exchange tents with Tim's family, but they find themselves outmatched by Tim's preparedness. In the meantime, Lucy and Tim's mother Barbara take care of Lee's children.

Meanwhile, the women's conversation quickly turns into comedy as Lucy and Barbara share stories of Tim's eccentric childhood. After a series of mishaps, including Rachel getting stung by a bee, everyone ends up sleeping in the same tent.
The next morning, Tim and Lee's rivalry reaches a boiling point as they decide to have a race to the top of a nearby hill. However, as they reach the top, they spot a stranded couple on the edge of the cliff that needs their help. Tim and Lee put their competition aside and work together to rescue them. The experience brings them closer as they both realize the importance of family and looking out for each other.
In the end, they all have breakfast together before packing up and heading back home.
