O11CE Season 1 Episode 1 Episode 1
- March 13, 2017
In O11CE's first episode, we are introduced to Gabo, a young soccer enthusiast who dreams of becoming a professional player. Gabo is from a small village where soccer isn't a prevalent sport, but he's determined to pursue his passion. He carries a soccer ball with him wherever he goes and takes it out to practice his moves at any unoccupied space he can find. Gabo's dedication and tenacity have caught the attention of one of the biggest soccer academies in Buenos Aires – Buenos Aires Hawks.
Gabo makes the trek from his village to Buenos Aires to try out for the team, but he is quickly disheartened when he realizes that there are far too many other talented players vying for the same spot. Even worse, one of the players, Lorenzo, has a personal vendetta against Gabo and tries to sabotage his chances at every turn. But Gabo doesn't give up. He keeps pushing himself to prove his worth to the coaches, scouts, and fellow players.
In addition to the soccer team competition, Gabo faces another challenge in the form of his living arrangements. Since he's not from Buenos Aires, Gabo has to find his own place to stay. He ends up staying with his mother's childhood friend, Raul, and his family. Raul is the Hawks' head coach, which puts Gabo in a precarious situation. On one hand, he's grateful for the opportunity to live with a family that cares for him and wants to see him succeed. On the other hand, he worries that Raul may show him favoritism.
As the episode progresses, we see Gabo struggle to balance his personal life with his soccer passion. He's confronted with difficult decisions, like whether to tell Raul about Lorenzo's sabotage attempts or keep it to himself. He also has to learn to navigate the politics of the soccer world, where his talent alone may not be enough to secure him a spot on the Hawks. Meanwhile, Gabo tries to make friends with some of the other players, like his roommate Dedé, who is also determined to make it onto the team. Dedé is initially standoffish towards Gabo, but they eventually bond over their shared love of soccer.
Throughout the episode, there are several heartwarming moments that show Gabo's kindhearted nature and his love for his family. We see him video chatting with his mom and little sister, who are his biggest supporters. We also see Gabo go out of his way to help Raul's daughter, who is struggling to fit in at school. These scenes help us understand Gabo's character and motivations. He's not just driven by his own aspirations, but also by his desire to make his family proud and contribute to the lives of those around him.
Overall, episode one of O11CE sets the stage for an exciting sports drama that will capture the hearts of soccer enthusiasts and casual viewers alike. The show's blend of humor, drama, and heartfelt moments make it a must-watch for anyone who loves underdog stories and rooting for the little guy. We can't wait to see what Gabo will face next on his journey to becoming a professional soccer player.
