Derek (played by Flex Alexander) is excited about the upcoming school election as he is running for class president against Arnie. He seeks advice from Breanna (played by Kyla Pratt) on how to create a successful campaign and gain more supporters. The two decide to organize a school-wide event to let the candidates voice their opinions and policies. They call the event "Rock the Vote."
Derek is confident in his speaking abilities and promises to lower school fees, increase the budget for sports teams, and improve the quality of the school food. Arnie, on the other hand, seems unprepared and lacks enthusiasm in his speech.
Meanwhile, Flex (played by Kelly Perine) starts dating a woman named Tammy who is an activist and is running for city council. She encourages him to become interested in politics and take a stance on important issues. Flex is hesitant at first, but Tammy's passion and dedication to her campaign inspire him.
In an unexpected turn of events, Breanna decides to run for class president against Derek and Arnie. She believes Derek is not focused on issues that matter to the students and Arnie lacks experience. Breanna campaigns on making the school more environmentally friendly, improving the school's technology resources, and implementing a peer-mentoring program.
The "Rock the Vote" event brings out a lot of supporters for all three candidates, and it becomes clear that it will be a close race. The tension between the candidates rises as they try to sway voters to their side. Flex also becomes more involved in Tammy's campaign and starts canvassing for her in the local community.
On the day of the election, the students gather to vote, and the results are announced. The winner of the election shocks everyone, and it teaches the students a valuable lesson about the importance of participating in the democratic process.
"Rock the Vote" is a great episode that highlights the power of the young voice and the importance of civic duty. The episode is entertaining, optimistic, and educational. It is an excellent addition to the fourth season of One on One and is a must-watch for all ages.
