Ep 3. Are You True?

In One Tree Hill Season 1 Episode 3, titled "Are You True?", the focus shifts towards Keith (Craig Sheffer) and his strained relationships with Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) and Dan (Paul Johansson). Lucas continues to harbor resentment towards Dan, especially after his father's drunken behavior at Lucas' basketball game. However, Lucas starts to realize that his anger is preventing him from fully connecting with Keith, who has been more of a father figure to him than Dan ever was. Meanwhile, Dan tries to gain the upper hand at Keith's garage, leading to a physical altercation between the two.

Elsewhere, Peyton (Hilarie Burton) finds herself drawn to Nathan (James Lafferty), but struggles with her loyalty to Lucas. While Nathan continues to play mind games with his teammates, he invites Peyton to a party at his house with the intention of making Lucas jealous. However, Peyton's true feelings for Nathan start to surface when he shows a more vulnerable side.

Brooke (Sophia Bush) also has her own problems to deal with, as she struggles to find her place in the world outside of her mother's shadow. In an effort to prove that she can be independent, Brooke starts acting out and getting into trouble. When she ends up in handcuffs, she realizes that she needs to reevaluate her choices and figure out who she really wants to be.

As the episode comes to a close, tensions continue to rise between Keith and Dan, while Lucas and Peyton's relationship takes a dramatic turn. "Are You True?" showcases the complexities of family dynamics and teenage relationships, while also delving into themes of identity and self-discovery.
