As Brooke searches for a new writer, she comes across a young and highly talented woman named Millicent Huxtable. As she works with Millicent, Brooke begins to realize that the young woman may be the key to saving her business. As they spend more time together, Brooke also begins to learn more about Millicent's personal life, including her struggles with weight and body image.
Meanwhile, Lucas and Peyton's relationship takes a turn for the worse when Lucas discovers that Peyton has been keeping secrets from him. As the two try to work through their problems, they realize that communication is the key to their happiness. But, with the arrival of Peyton's ex-boyfriend, Julian, their relationship is put to the test once again.
Throughout the episode, several other storylines unfold, including Mouth's attempt to reconnect with his estranged girlfriend, Millicent's budding romance with Mouth's friend, a pregnancy scare for Haley and Nathan, and a surprise job offer for Brooke.
As the episode comes to a close, the characters are left to face the consequences of their actions, both good and bad.
