Ep 3. Music Video

People Just Do Nothing is a mockumentary-style sitcom that follows the lives of a group of pirate radio station hosts from West London. Season 5, episode 3, titled Music Video, follows the Kurupt FM crew as they try to create the ultimate music video for their single "Heart Monitor Riddem."

The episode opens with Chabuddy G, the self-proclaimed manager of Kurupt FM, announcing that they're finally making a music video. The crew is excited but nervous as they've never done anything like this before. They begin brainstorming ideas for the video, but it quickly becomes apparent that everyone has very different visions for what they want it to be.

Beats, the producer of Kurupt FM, wants the video to be an epic, cinematic masterpiece, while Steves, the resident DJ, suggests they keep it simple and just film themselves rapping in front of a green screen. Meanwhile, MC Grindah argues that they need to showcase their roots and film in the streets of Brentford.

Chabuddy G takes matters into his own hands and contacts a video production company that he found online. The crew agrees to meet with the company, but things quickly go awry when they realize that Chabuddy has been duped and the company is a scam.

Feeling defeated and deflated, the Kurupt FM crew decides to take matters into their own hands and make the music video themselves. They pool their resources and purchase a green screen, but quickly realize they have no idea how to use it. They enlist the help of their friend Snoop, who works at a local tech store, and start filming.

The filming process is chaotic and disorganized, with multiple takes ruined by MC Grindah's inability to remember his lines and DJ Steves' insistence on ad-libbing. Beats becomes increasingly frustrated with the lack of progress and decides to take matters into his own hands by creating a 3D animation sequence for the video.

The crew is skeptical but ultimately decides to go along with Beats' plan. The animation turns out to be a disaster, with poorly rendered graphics and a nonsensical storyline. They decide to scrap the animation and return to filming themselves in front of the green screen.

After several more takes, they finally manage to get a decent shot and compile the footage into a rough cut. They invite their friends and family to a private screening of the music video, where it is met with mixed reviews.

Despite its shortcomings, the crew is proud of their work and excited to release the video to the world. They upload it to YouTube and anxiously wait for the views to roll in.

People Just Do Nothing season 5 episode 3 is a hilarious and relatable depiction of the struggles of independent artists trying to make it in a competitive industry. The Kurupt FM crew's passion and perseverance in the face of setbacks is both heartwarming and entertaining, making for a must-watch episode.
