As the fourth episode of season five of People Just Do Nothing gets underway, audience members find out that Kurupt FM is under threat from their biggest rival, Kold FM, and the crew is running out of ways to counteract their competition. DJ Beats is feeling the pressure, but Steves is fully convinced they need to get into a working out regime to prepare for the inevitable violent confrontation. Chabuddy G becomes increasingly paranoid, getting worried that his own health is deteriorating, and starts believing that he has asthma. Regardless of whether or not he is actually asthmatic, he decides that he needs to undergo a total health overhaul so that he can be ready to face any challenge head-on, whether on the streets or in the bedroom. As he sets out to cleanse both his body and soul, the rest of Kurupt FM is left without their usual comical sidekick. Meanwhile, Miche goes on a fantastic spree, ordering a luxury teppenyaki grill for the studio. However, this leads to tension between her and the rest of the team, and Grindah, Beats, and Decoy have to decide whether or not she’s really part of the family.

The episode opens with a scene showing a worried DJ Beats. As he says, “they’re smashing it,” a Kold FM van drives past, blaring their latest set. Grindah reminds him that it’s all just posturing and that they need to focus on themselves and their own content. Steves has a different idea, however, and jumps in with a suggestion that they start up a working out regime with a personal trainer to show they’re not intimidated. Grindah and Beats try to shut him down, but Chabuddy G is intrigued, going so far as to announce that he’s been “prepping for a while now.”

As the rest of the team takes a break in the studio, Chabuddy G comes in wheezing and clutching his chest; he’s convinced that he’s suffering from a severe asthma attack. However, he has no money or health insurance to get himself checked out and decides instead to undergo a self-diagnosis based on what he’s read about the condition on the internet. He announces that he needs to take better care of himself, starting by giving up smoking and drinking and switching to a juice cleanse.

With DJs Beats and Grindah concerned that their partner may be going too far and abandoning them, they decide to take action. Joining in on the fun, Steves offers to be Chabuddy’s personal trainer, instructing him on the basics of bench pressing and properly spotting each other during workouts. When Chabuddy insists that he needs a cheat day, the team takes him out, but only after getting him to learn the basics of karate. While out, they make up, and things seem to be going well again.

Back at the studio, however, things take an unexpected turn. Miche has gotten a luxuary teppenyaki grill installed, and everyone is confused by her decision. Grindah thinks it’s for presentation purposes and initially seems to be on board, but he changes his tune when he realizes that it’s burned a hole in the Kurupt FM budget. Beats is skeptical that this will make them more appealing as a radio station, but Chabuddy makes light of the situation as he comes back ready to jump into the action. Unbeknownst to the rest of the team, however, somebody is watching them through binoculars.

As the episode progresses, viewers are left to wonder what the binocular-wielding antagonists have in store and whether or not they are truly safe. Meanwhile, Chabuddy G’s paranoia continues to grow, leading him to seek out a cure for his potential asthma attack. Through his journey, he meets a variety of characters who offer their own opinions on what’s best for him, but ultimately it’s an elderly woman in a park who really sets him on the right path.

Despite the chaos and conflict, the episode ends on a somewhat hopeful note. In the final scene, the team is back together in the studio, ready to record another episode. As they sit with their luxurious teppanyaki meal, each member of the group begins to express their support for one another and their commitment to defending Kurupt FM. Whether or not they’ll be successful in defeating Kold FM remains to be seen, but for now, they’re ready to embark on their upcoming challenges together, firmly united as a team.
