Pineapple Dance Studios Season 1 Episode 2 Episode 2

  • October 5, 2014

In episode 2 of Pineapple Dance Studios season 1, viewers are treated to another exciting look behind the scenes of London's most famous dance studio. Once again, we get to see the raw talent and hard work that goes into creating the incredible dance performances that Pineapple is known for.

The episode kicks off with a look at one of the studio's most popular classes - the commercial dance course. We get to meet the instructor, Andrew Stone, and watch as he puts a group of aspiring dancers through their paces with a high-energy routine. As always, there are a few students who struggle to keep up, but Andrew's infectious enthusiasm keeps everyone motivated and smiling.

Next up, we see a very different side of Pineapple as we follow the progress of a more avant-garde dance performance. Choreographer Louie Spence is working with a group of dancers to create a piece that is "a bit weird, a bit out there, a bit different". The rehearsal footage is mesmerizing, with the dancers contorting their bodies into strange and beautiful shapes. Louie is clearly a taskmaster, pushing his performers to the limit to get the most out of them.

We also get to meet a talented young dancer named Akai. At just 11 years old, Akai is already being hailed as a future star. In the episode, we see him rehearsing for a big audition for the Royal Ballet School. His parents are clearly very proud of him, but we also get a sense that they are aware of the pressure he is under. Akai seems to take it all in his stride, though, and remains focused on his dream of becoming a professional dancer.

Another highlight of the episode is the visit of a very special guest - American singer-songwriter Kelis. Kelis is in London promoting her new album, and she decides to drop in for a dance class at Pineapple. The instructors and students are understandably thrilled to have her there, and the footage of her throwing herself into the routines is a joy to watch.

As well as all the hard work and rehearsals, there are also plenty of lighter moments in the episode. We see Pineapple regular Natalie practising her moves in the studio's corridors, much to the amusement of passers-by. And there's a hilarious scene where Andrew Stone dons a wig and a pair of heels to impersonate his hero, Beyoncé.

Overall, episode 2 of Pineapple Dance Studios season 1 is a real treat for fans of dance and performance. It's a chance to see some incredible talent in action, as well as the dedication and hard work that goes into creating unforgettable dance moments. Whether you're a professional dancer or just someone who loves to move, there's something here to inspire and entertain.
