Pokemon the Series Season 2 Episode 20

Ep 20. Wherefore Art Thou, Pok?mon?

  • June 10, 1999

Ash, Misty, and Brock are on their way to the next gym when they stumble upon a theater group. The group is practicing for an upcoming play, Romeo and Juliet, but they are missing their star performer – a Pokemon named Jigglypuff. Jigglypuff is known for its beautiful singing voice, and the group cannot perform without it.

Upon hearing their predicament, Ash and his friends offer to help search for Jigglypuff. They split up and begin their search, but Jigglypuff is nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, the leader of the theater group is worried about the upcoming performance and is looking for a replacement for Jigglypuff.

Ash and his friends eventually find Jigglypuff in a field, but the Pokemon is clearly upset and not interested in performing. They discover that Jigglypuff's previous owner mistreated it and forced it to perform, causing Jigglypuff to develop a fear of singing.

The group decides to try and help Jigglypuff overcome its fear. They start by singing themselves and encouraging Jigglypuff to join in. Eventually, Jigglypuff begins to sing too and overcomes its fear.

With Jigglypuff's confidence restored, the group makes it back to the theater in time for the performance. Jigglypuff puts on a stunning performance, causing the audience to cheer and the theater group to be overjoyed.

As a token of gratitude, the theater group gives Jigglypuff a special ribbon. However, Jigglypuff decides to give the ribbon to its new friends instead, expressing its appreciation for their help. The group thanks Jigglypuff and continues on their journey to the next gym, grateful for their new experience and newfound friendship with Jigglypuff.
