Pokemon the Series Season 8 Episode 49 Caterpie's Big Dilemma

Ash and his friends are on the way to the Battle Pike when they come across a Caterpie who seems to be in distress. The group quickly realizes that the problem is that Caterpie has grown too big for his skin and needs to molt in order to grow. However, Caterpie is too scared to do so because he's worried about leaving his friends behind and being alone during the molting process. Ash and his friends decide to help and try to find a safe place for Caterpie to molt, but things don't go as planned.

First, they encounter a pack of wild Pidgey who try to attack them, but they manage to fight them off. Next, they find a seemingly perfect spot for Caterpie to molt, but then a group of Beedrill swarm in and threaten to attack. The group manages to fend off the Beedrill, but the stress becomes too much for Caterpie to handle. He runs off, and the group is forced to split up and search for him.

Ash and Pikachu eventually find Caterpie in a nearby cave, but they also find themselves trapped by a group of hostile Ariados. The two manage to fight the Ariados and find a way out of the cave, but they're worried Caterpie won't be able to handle the stress if they encounter any more danger.

Meanwhile, May, Max, and Brock have their own troubles. They accidentally run into Team Rocket, who have a plan to steal all the Pokémon in the area. The three are able to stop Team Rocket, but they become separated in the process. May and Max find themselves being chased by a pack of wild Pokémon, and Brock is bitten by a wild Nuzleaf.

In the end, Ash and Pikachu are able to find Caterpie again, and they convince him that he can molt and still be with his friends. Caterpie successfully molts, revealing his new, powerful form as a Metapod. The group shares a moment of celebration before quickly realizing that there are still dangers around and must continue to be careful as they journey to the Battle Pike.
