In the meantime, Ravana is keeping Sita captive in his palace in Lanka. Sita is tortured by Ravana's sister Surpanakha, who tries to seduce Rama and is rejected. Surpanakha is enraged by Rama's rejection and attacks Sita. Sita is protected by Jatayu, a bird friend of Rama's who was also searching for Sita. Jatayu is wounded in the battle and informs Rama of Sita's whereabouts before dying.

Rama is devastated by Jatayu's death and vows to avenge his friend by killing Ravana. Meanwhile, Hanuman, the monkey god, goes in search of Sita in Lanka. He finds Sita held captive in a garden and introduces himself as a messenger from Rama. Sita is overjoyed to see Hanuman and sends a message back to Rama through him.

The episode ends with Hanuman returning to Rama and telling him about Sita's whereabouts. Rama and his army of monkeys prepare to march towards Lanka to rescue Sita from Ravana's clutches.
