Sam finds himself in a dilemma when he discovers that his latest escaped souls are actually wishing wells. Each coin thrown into the well takes a year off the thrower's life, and the souls are able to collect the life force released. Believing that the wells can help him with his financial problems, Sam gets Sock, Ben and Andi to help him collect as much money as possible before cashing in. Meanwhile, Tony is struggling to come to terms with his attraction to his half-sister, Josie, and seeks Sam's advice. But Sam is too preoccupied with finding a way to keep the money he has collected, and ends up betraying Tony's trust. With the souls closing in, Sam realizes the severity of his actions and decides to take responsibility for his mistakes. In the end, Sam and his friends learn a valuable lesson about the true meaning of friendship and loyalty.
