Ep 11. Episode 11

The episode picks up with the aftermath of the big reveal regarding Dong-ryong's father from the previous episode. However, instead of dwelling too much on that, "Episode 11" instead turns its attention to the preparations for the upcoming cultural festival.

As usual, the main group of friends are at the center of the action. This time around, Bora and Taek end up getting roped into the same committee, which leads to some fun antics between the two of them. Meanwhile, Sun-woo and Jung-hwan are tasked with taking care of a cute little dog (who they hilariously name "Sorry"), leading to some adorable scenes of them bonding with the pup.

Other storylines in the episode include Dong-ryong's continuing struggles to come to terms with his newfound family situation, and Deok-sun's ongoing crush on Jung-hwan. The latter is particularly poignant in this episode, as we see how much she's been pining for him and how difficult it is for her to express her feelings.

As always, "Episode 11" continues to do an excellent job of blending humor and heart. There are plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, such as Dong-ryong's attempts to get his "new" father to like him, and the ongoing shenanigans of the various committees for the festival. But there are also plenty of touching moments, such as when Deok-sun finally confronts Jung-hwan about her feelings for him.

One of the things that makes "Episode 11" stand out in the broader context of Reply 1988 is how well it encapsulates the show's overall themes. The cultural festival is a microcosm of the larger community, and we see how everyone comes together to work towards a common goal.
