Set in both modern-day Seoul and 17th-century Joseon, Live Up To Your Name is a fantasy drama series that follows the lives of two main characters, Heo Im and Choi Yeon-kyung. Heo Im is a traditional medicine doctor from Joseon who accidentally time travels to the present and meets modern-day doctor Choi Yeon-kyung.

Played by Nam-gil Kim, Heo Im is a brilliant and skilled physician from the Joseon Dynasty. He has a reputation for being the best doctor in the land, and his patients come from far and wide to seek his medical expertise. However, despite his success as a doctor, Heo Im struggles with poverty and loneliness, but his passion for medicine keeps him going.

In the present day, we meet Choi Yeon-kyung, played by Kim Ah-jung. She is a successful doctor who runs her own oriental medicine clinic, but her arrogant and prickly personality has left her with very few friends. But despite her tough exterior, Yeon-kyung is an excellent doctor who takes great pride in her work.

Their paths cross when Heo Im accidentally time travels to present-day Seoul, where he miraculously appears in Yeon-kyung's clinic. She initially dismisses him as a crazy old man, but soon realizes that he is actually an accomplished doctor from the past. Intrigued by his medical knowledge, Yeon-kyung takes him under her wing and together they embark on a journey to discover the truth behind the mysterious time-traveling phenomenon and cure patients using both traditional and modern medicine.

As they work together, the two doctors begin to develop a deep understanding and respect for each other's approaches to medicine. Despite the cultural and historical differences between them, they strive towards a common goal: helping their patients in whatever way possible.

Adding to the complexity of the show is the character of Park Chan-sung (Yun Ju-sang), a wealthy and influential businessman with a terminal illness. He approaches Yeon-kyung for treatment, and their relationship becomes more intertwined as the show progresses. There are also flashbacks to Heo Im's past, where we get to see more of his life in Joseon and his relationships with historical figures such as King Sukjong.

Live Up To Your Name is much more than a medical drama; it's a story of love, friendship, and cultural exchange. The show successfully blends elements of fantasy, historical drama, and medical drama to create a unique and engaging viewing experience. The performances by the cast, especially Nam-gil Kim and Kim Ah-jung, are exceptional, and their chemistry keeps the show interesting from start to finish.

Overall, Live Up To Your Name is a wonderful Korean drama that will have you hooked from the first episode. Whether you love medical dramas, historical dramas, or just a good fantasy story, this show has something for everyone.
