- 8 Seasons
Lisa Vanderpump, a member of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast, is also a successful businesswoman in the highly competitive Los Angeles restaurant scene. The new reality docu-drama series Vanderpump Rules offers a behind the scenes look at the volatile staff of her newest venture SUR. Along with familiar reality TV elements, the show focuses on the underlying story of a group of co-workers who are trying to make it in Hollywood. SUR's ambitious, appearance-conscious staff provides the drama each week as their interpersonal relations take center stage. The initial season of this spin-off series was introduced at the end of a Real Housewife of Beverly Hills episode, so viewers may already be familiar with the upscale West Hollywood lounge and restaurant SUR. Along with her other activities, Lisa Vanderpump has her hands full managing her new business and trying keep her employees under control. Despite her no-nonsense, practical approach to their antics, however, the staff remains deeply enmeshed in each other's lives, often with disastrous results. SUR's cast of actor/model/servers includes the on again-off again couple Jax Taylor, bartender and model, and Stassi Schroeder, server and aspiring fashion designer. Vanderpump Rules also introduces couple Kristin Doute, an actor and model and Tom Sandoval, a SUR bartender longing for a career in modeling, acting or music. Among the other servers is Scheana Marie Jancan, who has already established a reputation for herself in the tabloids through her previous relationship with Eddie Cibrian. As the cameras on Vanderpump Rules keep rolling, the show follows the SUR staff in their emotionally charged work and social relationships. Passionate (and sometimes violent) physical interactions are revealed and explicit language is a consistent part of the dialog. As the tension mounts, keeping their boss Lisa happy and retaining their jobs at the restaurant seem to be less and less of a sure thing. Vanderpump Rules is an approximately 42-minute eight-episode series designed to fit in a 60-minute time slot. The show is produced by Evolution Media and distributed by Bravo. Executive producers include Alex Baskin, Kathleen French, Douglas Ross, Greg Stewart and Bill Langworthy. Lisa Vanderpump and her husband and business partner Ken Todd are Executive Producers; however, Giggy has no production responsibilities.
