- March 13, 2014
Review with Forrest MacNeil is a dark comedy television series that aired on Comedy Central. The show follows the life of Forrest MacNeil, who is a professional critic that reviews life experiences based on the requests of his audience. Each episode features Forrest MacNeil reviewing one particular experience, and giving it a rating out of five stars.
In season 1 episode 2, titled "Sex Tape, Racist, Hunting," Forrest MacNeil is requested to review three experiences: making a sex tape, being racist, and going hunting. In typical Review with Forrest MacNeil fashion, Forrest takes these experiences to the extreme, and puts himself in some uncomfortable and dangerous situations.
The first experience that Forrest reviews is making a sex tape. He initially struggles to find a willing partner, but eventually convinces a woman to join him. They enlist the help of a production crew, and Forrest films himself having sex with the woman. However, he quickly learns that his review of this experience is complicated by the fact that the woman he made the sex tape with is married.
The second experience that Forrest reviews is being racist. He initially tries to avoid this experience, but eventually gives in to the request. He dresses in white supremacist clothing, and attends a rally with a group of white supremacists. Forrest quickly realizes that being racist is not as easy as he thought, and questions his own beliefs.
The third and final experience that Forrest reviews is going hunting. He joins a group of hunters on a hunting trip, and is tasked with shooting a deer. However, Forrest soon begins to question the ethics of hunting, and struggles to take the shot.
Throughout the episode, Forrest's reviews of these experiences are insightful, humorous, and often uncomfortable. He puts himself in some dangerous and morally questionable situations, all in the name of providing an honest review for his audience. As always, Review with Forrest MacNeil provides a unique and entertaining look at some of life's most challenging experiences.
