Ep 17. Chapter Seventy-Four: Wicked Little Town

Chapter Seventy-Four: Wicked Little Town is the seventeenth episode of the fourth season of the American television series Riverdale. The episode was directed by Mädchen Amick and written by Tessa Leigh Williams and Arabella Anderson.

As the episode begins, the town of Riverdale is preparing for a performance of the musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch at the school. Kevin is directing the play, with Archie on guitar, Betty on lights, and Toni as choreographer. Meanwhile, Jughead is continuing his investigation into the mysterious videotapes and the voyeuristic Stonewall students who seem to be behind them.

As rehearsals for the play continue, the students begin to experience strange occurrences. Kevin's lead actor is injured, forcing the understudy to take on the lead role of Hedwig. Betty discovers a doll in the lighting booth with a message from the mysterious videotape sender. And Jughead receives a threatening note from someone who knows about his investigation.

The night of the play arrives, and tensions are high. The show goes off without a hitch until the finale, when the power goes out and the students are forced to improvise the ending. After the show, Kevin and the cast are surprised to find a glowing review in the school newspaper, which they later discover was written by Jughead.

As the investigation into the videotapes continues, Jughead and Betty track down one of the Stonewall students, Bret, who admits to being involved in the tapes. He tells Jughead that they were made as part of a game they play called "Stonewall Preppies", in which they compete for points by performing various pranks and stunts.

Meanwhile, Archie and Veronica are dealing with drama of their own. Archie has started to feel like he's losing his connection to his hometown of Riverdale, and has decided to join the army after graduation. Veronica is upset by his decision and tries to convince him to stay, but ultimately decides to support him. She also must deal with her father, Hiram, who is in jail but still manages to wield power over her through his connections.

Chapter Seventy-Four: Wicked Little Town is a thrilling episode of Riverdale, full of mystery, drama, and musical numbers. The episode sets up exciting storylines for the rest of the season, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats until the very end.
