Ep 10. Triumph

In Rome Season 1 Episode 10 titled Triumph, the aftermath of Julius Caesar's victory in Gaul is explored. He returns to Rome not only as a victorious general but also as a populist leader adored by the people. Meanwhile, Servilia seeks revenge against Atia for the death of her lover, Caesar's enemy, Cato.

Vorenus and Pullo, who have served under Caesar in Gaul, follow their leader and witness the triumph. Atia, Caesar's niece, played by Polly Walker, is concerned about her status with the arrival of Caesar. She fears that her own son Octavian may be pushed aside, now that Caesar has a son of his own. Meanwhile, Servilia, played by Lindsay Duncan, schemes against her outside the city in an attempt to put to use her intimate relationship with Brutus.

Triumph marks a turning point for Rome, both politically and personally for its characters. Caesar's display of power and the support of the people is a direct challenge to the authority of the Senate and the traditional oligarchy in Rome. In contrast, Servilia's plot to take down Atia is personal, seeking revenge for Cato's death.
