In Rome season 2 episode 2, titled "Son Of Hades," the political and social turmoil of ancient Rome continues as tensions between two powerful factions escalate. The episode focuses on the character of Pullo, a former soldier and loyal friend of the deceased Julius Caesar. Pullo finds himself in a difficult situation when he is forced to participate in a scheme that puts him at odds with his own conscience.

Pullo is approached by a group of men who claim to be supporters of Caesar's son, Caesarion, who they believe should rightfully be the Emperor of Rome. They ask Pullo to infiltrate the city of Rome and retrieve a valuable item that they claim will help them in their quest for power. Pullo initially refuses, but when they threaten him with violence against his loved ones, he reluctantly agrees.

Meanwhile, back in the city, tensions between the two main factions in Rome - the Optimates and the Populares - are mounting. The Optimates are the wealthy, conservative elite who have traditionally held power in Rome, while the Populares are the common people who are demanding greater rights and representation.

In an effort to gain the support of the masses, the Populares have organized games in which gladiators fought to the death. These games have become enormously popular, and the leaders of the Populares are using them as a way to gain political influence.

As Pullo makes his way into Rome, he is constantly reminded of the brutality and corruption of the city. He encounters prostitutes, gamblers, and other unsavory characters, all of whom seem to be looking out for their own interests rather than the good of Rome.

At the same time, he is haunted by memories of his past, including his time as a soldier and his involvement in Caesar's death. He is wracked with guilt and struggles to find a way to redeem himself in the eyes of the gods.

As the episode reaches its climax, Pullo finally comes face to face with the leaders of the group that recruited him. He discovers their true intentions and realizes that he has been used as a pawn in a much larger political game.

The episode ends with Pullo once again alone, struggling to reconcile his loyalty to Caesar with his desire to do what is right. He is a man torn between two worlds - the world of politics and power, and the world of honor and duty.

Overall, "Son Of Hades" is a gripping and intense episode that delves deeper into the complex web of politics and power in ancient Rome. It asks difficult questions about loyalty, morality, and the nature of power, and leaves viewers eagerly anticipating what will happen next.
