Samantha! is a Brazilian television series that premiered on Netflix on July 6, 2018. Created by Felipe Braga and directed by Luis Pinheiro and Julia Jordão, Samantha! follows the story of Samantha, a former child star who's now all grown up and struggling to make ends meet. The show is set in Rio de Janeiro and has two seasons, with the final season airing on November 5, 2019.

The titular character, Samantha, played by Emanuelle Araújo, is a woman who rose to fame in the 1980s, starring in a hit children's show called Samantha and Her Friends. As a child, she was adored by audiences and even won a prestigious acting award, but as she grew older, her star began to fade, leaving her with few job prospects and a lot of resentment.

Despite her lack of success, Samantha is a determined individual who's not afraid to take risks to get what she wants. In the show's first season, she comes up with a plan to revive her career by launching a comeback tour with her former bandmates. The problem is, her bandmates have all moved on from their music careers and are reluctant to join her on this crazy adventure.

The character Douglas Silva plays is Dodói, Samantha's ex-husband and the father of her two children. Dodói is a former soccer prodigy who's now working at a fast food restaurant. He's a kind-hearted person who still cares deeply for Samantha, despite their messy divorce. In the first season, Samantha enlists Dodói's help in putting together her comeback tour, hoping that his connections in the music industry will help her succeed.

The show's supporting cast includes a cast a group of offbeat characters who help Samantha achieve her dreams. These include Cindy, a transgender woman who works as a makeup artist and costume designer, and Nico, Samantha's laid-back manager who's always quick with a joke.

While Samantha! is a comedy, it does touch on more serious topics such as addiction, poverty, and gender identity. In the second season, the show takes a more introspective approach to its storytelling, exploring the characters' past traumas and how they've shaped their current lives.

Overall, Samantha! is a charming and funny show with heart. It's a satirical take on Brazil's celebrity culture and the difficult realities of being a has-been. While it may not be the most groundbreaking show, it's a fun watch that's sure to put a smile on your face.

Samantha! is a series that is currently running and has 2 seasons (14 episodes). The series first aired on July 6, 2018.
